Many users of the increasingly popular Ubuntu Linux distribution found themselves on Tuesday thrown back to mid-1990s, when a botched update to the graphical X Window subsystem brought them face-to-face with the command-line terminal.
An update, pushed out to Ubuntu users Monday night. The updated aimed to fix a problem related to the X Window software but caused the GUI to fail to initialize.
Canonical, issued an apology.
But…. we claim to have a different operating system, more secure than the one issued in Redmond and, only 3 days after, we had its same problem!!!
